Join renowned jazz vocalist, pianist, and educator Kate Reid for *Authentic Phrasing* on JazzVoice.com. A highly respected performer and professor of jazz voice at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, Kate will guide you in shaping melodies and lyrics with natural, expressive phrasing. This class will help you bring greater depth and individuality to your singing. Open to all levels! Kate Reid is Director of the Jazz Vocal Performance program and Associate Professor of jazz voice in the Studio Music and Jazz department at the Frost School of Music. Along with coordinating all aspects of the Jazz Vocal Performance program, Dr. Reid directs two of the Frost’s three jazz vocal ensembles, FROST Extensions and Jazz Vocal I. Kate also maintains a full jazz voice studio of undergraduate and graduate students and produces the annual Frost Jazz Vocal Invitational and the Frost Summer Jazz Vocal Intensive. She enjoys a busy career as a guest artist, conductor, clinician and adjudicator at all-state jazz and choral festivals through the United States and Canada. Kate’s multifaceted career includes studio recording for film and tv and she is continuing the journey as a solo jazz vocalist working on her fifth recording project to be released later this year.
